Galle Henna Estate affords guest true authentic luxury. The main house on the estate was built around the early 1900's in which the architecture displays all the features of its historical past, influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British.

 

Established in 2002, Giddings and Guests pvt ltd sympathetically restored and rebuilt the main house. 

The interiors, designed with a balance of aesthetic and comfort, drawing on a collection of artefacts sourced from the flea markets of Paris, London and Shanghai to the antique traders of Colombo and Rajasthan.

The made to measure furniture from the artisans of the local town, have been hand crafted and displayed in an electic juxtaposition of heritage and modern, seamlessly mixing elements of style from the east and west.

 

Located 1 mile in-land from the beach, over-looking the paddy fields of Galle and conveniently positioned between our sister houses 'Galle Henna Beach House' and 'Bieshu Beach Hive'.

Indulge in total privacy behind the extensive walled garden, where our very discreet staff take care of the day to day running of the house, allowing guest to lay by the pool and explore the extensive grounds. 

 

The wanderlusters can find their own luxury and life balance walking away from the grounds, indulging in the pace of authentic village life away from the usual tourist attractions. Soaking up the sound of bird song from the 492 endemic species( BirdLife International recognize Sri Lanka as one of the world's Endemic Bird Areas) hearing the light holistic mantras drifting from the distant buddhist temples at dawn and taking in the essence and aromas of the tropical fauna.

Observing locals go about their daily business, with a gentle nod to your presence and perhaps a small whisper of "Ayubowan '' which is sinhalese for ''may you have more life time'' all of which we consider to be true authentic luxury.

Ground floor, Garden suites;

 

• Two spacious suites with A/C,  furnished with antique four-poster double beds, which open out to the front garden and croquet lawn with views of the swimming pool and paddy fields. 

• Each suite has spacious ensuite bathrooms with extra large polished cement baths taking centre stage, built to soak and relax at the end of your day .

• Each room sleeps 2 adults

 

First floor suites: 

• Three bedrooms.

• Master suite- with  four-poster double bed draped in crisp white nets, lounge area, spacious ensuite bathroom with romantic freestanding antique claw footed cast-iron bath , A/C  with views over the swimming pool and paddy fields. 

• Adjacent to the Master bedroom, a double bedroom with shower, bathtub. Making these two rooms ideal for a family.  Each room sleeps 2 adults.

• Third bedroom sleeps 1 adult.

• Baby-cot available free of charge.

 

 

Galle Henna Estate can be booked privately for you and your guests (sleeps maximum 9 adults) or booked by room only.
