Galle Henna Estate affords guest true authentic luxury. The main house on the estate was built around the early 1900's, in which the architecture displays all the features of its historical past, influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British.
Established in 2002, Giddings and Guests pvt ltd sympathetically restored and rebuilt the main house.
The interiors, designed with a balance of aesthetic and comfort, drawing on a collection of artefacts sourced from the flea markets of Paris, London and Shanghai to the antique traders of Colombo and Rajasthan.
​The made to measure furniture from the artisans of the local town, have been hand crafted and displayed in an electic juxtaposition of heritage and modern, seamlessly mixing elements of style from the east and west.
Galle Henna Estate is a quiet and elegant property located in a tranquil and serene setting. With its close proximity to the beach and bordering the paddy fields of Galle. The house offers guests a unique experience of Sri Lanka's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
The extensive walled garden provides guests with complete privacy, in which the discreet staff take care of the day-to-day running of the house, allowing guests to relax by the pool and explore the extensive grounds.
In addition, the property's location allows guests to experience both authentic village and beach life in Sri Lanka. The sound of bird song from the 492 endemic species adds to the natural charm of the location, and hearing the light holistic mantras drifting from the distant Buddhist temples at dawn adds to the spiritual experience of yoga mornings in Galle.
Observing locals going about their daily business and receiving a gentle nod with a "Ayubowan'' or "may you have more lifetime" is a genuine luxury, and it provides guests with a chance to connect with the local culture.
